Daily requirement of iodine differ depending on age:
-          newborn to one year – 50 micrograms
-          from 2 to 6 years – 90 micrograms
-          from 7 to 12 years – 120 micrograms
-          over 12 years and adults 150 micrograms
-          women during pregnancy and lactation period – 250 to 350 micrograms

Foods rich in iodine are seafood (fish, mussels, seaweed, lobster…), fish oil, iodized salt, and much less in meat, egg, milk, garlic, pineapple, pear, lemon, sesame, soybeans…
